A |     Canberra, Oct 18 (UNI) Australia and Singapore signed a green economy agreement here on Tuesday.



Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hosted his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong for talks in Canberra where the pair signed the agreement.



Speaking after their meeting, Albanese said the deal would support clean energy innovation between the two nations.



"Today, we open a new chapter in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Australia and Singapore," he told reporters.



"The green economy agreement signals collective resolve to confront challenges as we transition our economies to net zero. It will support clean energy innovation, unlock business opportunities and create jobs, and help deliver our emission's targets while positioning Australia as a renewable energy superpower," he said.

B |     Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday called for efforts to learn from late leader Jiang Zemin's dedication to and profound love for the people.    Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a grand gathering held in Beijing to commemorate the birth centenary of Jiang.    Jiang always stood with the people and cared for their well-being, Xi said.    The late leader once pointed out that the fundamental goal of economic development is to raise people's living standards. He also placed emphasis on building a moderately prosperous society at a higher level in an all-round way that would benefit over a billion people, Xi said.    Xi also underscored efforts to further adhere to a people-centered approach to development on the new journey and make solid steps in promoting the all-round development of the people and common prosperity for all.                     。
